Resilience

People seek ways to criticize and hurt, 

I have been pushed and shoved 

Through the past and present.

Labeled for who I am and what I seem to be,

They see flaws that they create in their mind.

I have been taught to ignore and discourage

Yet it is easier said than done.

I have been criticized and hurt, 

I can help those who have been pushed and shoved

And make change in this present

and difference for the future

Labeled for who I am and what I I know I can be.

I can now teach to respond and encourage

Yet it is easier said than done.

In the end we all perspire,

but at least trying will never expire.
