Respect, or a Lack Thereof

If you want my respect

Then I should get yours

If you want my respect

You shouldn’t alienate me

If you want my respect

You shouldn’t turn yourself into a victim

If you want my respect

You shouldn’t punish me for everything

If you want my respect

You should ask for my side of the story

If you want my respect

Then first I need yours

Because if you want my respect

Don’t treat me like a child

And if you want my respect

Know it doesn’t come for free

Because if you get my respect

It’s only because you respect me
