Respects

Pay your respects to the vultures,
and the carrion crows that you find.
Pay your respects to the vultures,
for the vultures will take you in time.

Pay your respects to the dying;
the ones that are going before.
Pay your respects to the dying,
for you are the next through the door.

Pay your respects to the mothers,
the next generation they raise.
Pay your respects to the mothers,
the ones who will number your days.

Pay your respects to the lonely,
the ones that watch and don't speak.
Pay your respects to the lonely;
they keep with the good and the meek.

Pay your respects to the vultures,
for they are good friends of mine.
Pay your respects to the vultures,
for the vultures will take you in time.
