Responsibility

She always had a blanket of support

Her parents had never let her worry

A little flower nurtured- cute and short

“Mommy, can I please get a Mcflurry?”

Soon the little girls leaves spread far and wide

Her flower bloomed: red, a girl she was not

But a woman, with a body to hide

Curves and a waist and hips were what she got

“Now she is an adult”, people exclaim.

People misinterpret maturity

Adulthood does not start with physical change

Hers started with responsibility

Responsibilities force maturing

Responsibility gave the girl wings
