Rest on momma..Rest on

Thu, 04/25/2013 - 22:34 -- alegrah

I’m so blessed because my mom was needed.

God didn’t take her because the day she dedicated her life to Him was the day permission had sunk in.

The tears I shed are in memory of the time we spent.

Rest on momma, Rest on.

You may see my head hung low because I have great joy to know that your spirit isn’t down low.

Rest on momma, Rest on.

I ask God what? Not “what have I done wrong”, but what is your plan with me now that my mom is gone? Lord please keep me strong.

Momma you were my rock who kept me in my place. You were my best friend who kept me sane.

You were “my girl” the one to explore the world with…

The one who had beauty like no other, We were so close more than a daughter to a mother.

Rest on momma, Rest on.

Yes, I’ll cry because you’re gone, but I’ll just sing our favorite song.

Yes, I may look sad, but am internally glad to know you’re home with dad.

Rest on momma, Rest on.

I never thought you would go so soon, never imagined your spirit passing the moon.

When your body laid in the bed, I couldn’t really imagine you being dead.

Rest on momma, Rest on.

Knowing I have Christ and because of His sacrifice, I’ll see you soon, so look over me mom and wait for me to come home too.

Rest on momma, Rest on.

You were the best diva that a diva can be, you showed me how to truly be me.

Rest on momma, Rest on.

Momma yes I’ll miss you, the times we laughed and cried too, but I have peace to know the Devil hasn’t won and you’re now sitting next to thee one.

Rest on momma, Rest on.
