Resurfacing in a Reverie
Once in a while
my mind fancies a fond memory,
and I let it linger, just a moment longer,
for the sake of reminiscing.
I allow my senses to stray
to a thing of the past –
an old, kept dream,
which is better kept away, perhaps.
I’ve decided however,
to simply accept this moment,
to feel the flood of returning feelings
against my better judgment.
And wrapped up, as I am,
in remembering, like I do,
I almost felt as if
I were missing you.
