Revealed Through My Window
My only witness is the window standing in between,
What I see, what I am, what I may be come, but mostly what I dream.
Then I catch a glimpse of me the frame reflects, reveals,
The side unseen that is myself, for I cannot appeal,
The humble window depicts my desires, my direction,
The face I wear when I don’t dare to share my own reflection,
The window sees right through me, as I through it,
Knowing the thoughts I need not say, however misfortunate,
It’s the cornerstone at which I stand, the sheet that separates me
From here and there and anywhere that I long to be,
And peering through the screen so pure reminds me gently,
That I—not it—stand in my way to define my future she.
