Reverie

My eyes get heavy,

My lids shut tight,

I fall into a slumber,

Deep in the night.

My heart races fast,

body tosses and turns,

A wistful scene pops up,

But sadly it burns.

I shake awake,

My eyes now wide,

A tear falls quick,

One I wish I could hide.

Now i know,

What I saw was too unreal,

Though I crave for it to be,

Those feelings I can’t conceal.

I tried to forget,

What was so unfair,

I long for the disappearance of

my pitiful nightmare.
