REVERTED TO ADOLESCENCE

I spent 9 months in solitary confinement.

In that time I depended on others.

I needed to be fed through another human.

 I slept for 40 weeks.

I was abruptly awoken and thrown into a foregin place.

On a Saturday in May of 1999

I was a new being, hatched into the world to start my life.

I could eat.

I could sleep.

I could shit.

That was it.

It has been 21 years since that day.

Since then I have experienced 9/11, School Shootings and a Pandemic.

I do not know a world without racism.

I do not know a world that is accepting of all.

The world I know is punishing me yet again.

I am back in solitary confinement due to the irresponsible actions of another hatched being.

I do not have COVID-19 but I am being treated as such.

I can only eat, sleep and shit.

I have truly reverted back to my adolescence.
