Revival

Imprisoned

In a dark cell, I am

Behind bars of steel

I cannot bend.

I could have asked

For an airy room

Furnished with bed

And open to light,

With a chair to sit

And a table to write down

The words that come

To play with me.

Engulfed by the dark

Of an evil variety

I cannot read

I cannot write,

My brain stalled

I should be free

To recall to mind

My early years

When I was

Free and wild,

That would revive me.
