Rhythm And Poetry
They told me sit down
Quiet
Open ears, not your mouth
Little ladies should be perfect, that's what this is about
They made me cover up
No shoulders
'Til I'm almost in college
Care more 'bout clothing, what I'm wearing, than the fruits of my knowledge
One day I heard her
Radio
Spitting verses like fire
Telling me to get my ass up, reach for what I desire
So I realized then
Women
Came in all shapes and sizes
And this rapper, she ain't quiet, and to me she symbolizes
A way to break free
Speak up
For myself and my soul
We're opposites, me and her, but we share a common goal
So I'll show em
The Baddest
Female, know my ability
Cause rap showed me how to find strength in my femininity
