Rhythm of Life

Days go on and time moves forward

But the package I carry still,

It rots and lingers in my depths

and on the surface it wilts.

Anger or deception

Call it what you will,

But I know I want it not

It offers no thrill.

And that is what I seek

Or sought for some time,

A sweet aroma, a pattern, or rhyme

But seasons rise and dawn

Plans hither and yon

Never quite in one accord.

Sweet and bitter is the hour

When the cold blue night covers my world,

For life is but a shower

Of highs and pangs that grow to storms

Life will never follow norms

Yet a steady beat it will perform

Like nothing new and like all in form.

Just one more day, devoid of scorn

No evil eye nor restless mourn

Just a moment fully lived

In mind and thought

Myself reborn.
