The Rhythm of Life
Life and death and rebirth-
Every second, minute, year-
Life and death intertwined-
In every falling tear.
Hearts ever beating-
Breathing and alive-
Struggling ever onward-
Hoping to survive.
The earth holds us in her arms,
But we can never know-
When the wild storm will come-
Or where the winds will blow.
We face the storm with trembling,
And some are blown away-
Yet others make it through the gale,
And brave another day.
The wind sways the open trees-
The waves sculpt the sand-
The rain falls where it will-
Strengthening the land.
The stars shine in the dark-
Dancing through the skies-
You might glimpse another’s soul-
If you look into his eyes.
The sun sets and rises-
The ocean breaths in and out-
Storms come and go-
But human hearts still doubt.
Laughter surges up-
Tears fall and dry-
The music of our souls-
Soar up to the painted sky.
Creation ever dances-
To the rhythm of life-
We are falling and swaying and singing-
To the Musician’s fife.
