Ribbon

The yellow ribbon in the sun,

blows gently in the wind.

But it can't go free because its tied in her hair.

This ribbon at night though, runs black in the pale light of the moon.

Stained black with tears and blood of the girls sadness and pain.

That ribbon takes her sadness away, takes away the pain away and,

At the suns first light, that ribbon turns yellow.

Just as the girl, whose smile and bright eyes are only pretend,

All she wants is to find a friend who will be there until the end

Unlike that yellow ribbon,

That has finally blown away in the wind

For someone else to find and use to take thier pain away.
