Riches

Some say I have very little,

“You still have that old phone?”

Comparing and contrasting everything,

Everything, that is, that they’ve known.

Some people say I have much,

Many riches in life do I own.

However they think these things I can touch,

They don’t know they are very wrong.

Our decorations are so beautiful, yes,

But the memories connected give more precious emotions.

And the Spirit that rests in our home has blessed

Us much more than our house that sits by the ocean.

My family is a treasure to me.

Not a perfect photo on our wooden shelf.

And I know that we can all agree

The bonds between us are the strongest that they could in oneself.

I don’t say we have no trials

Pain and sadness and grief.

However traveling these long miles

Build stronger muscles in our beliefs.

See our faith brings us together

But so do our sufferings.

And that kind of thing you can see whether

We have beautiful or ugly things.
