Rid This Demon

I only want one change

A change for all with a drunken father

I don't mean to sound like a whiner

Nor do I want to be a bother

but I say this now

because I know I'm not alone

delete the alcohol

because this is no home

home sweet home

is what the saying said

I only wish to be happy

instead of wishing to be dead

i apologize if I sound suicidal

but alcohol abuse isn't cool

i may not be perfect either

 and I'm absolutely no fool

no. I want to be the son you've always wanted

you say you want things right again

Yet I can't when you let the abuse take over

and I never want to make amends

I'll be fine without a father

though, I'd rather you be around

I simply can't take this anymore

And I refuse to be held down

so this may just seem

like another sad rhyme

but if alcohol were illegal

i wouldn't have to cherish every second of time
