Right In Front Of Me

It was like it was right in front of my face

Just outta reach, outta grasp

I’d worked so hard to get to this place

It took everything the team had ever had

To train as hard as this.

We got out there in the middle of the pad

My name was called and I came running

Out to put that strap on

The guy right there in front of me was cunning

But he just didn’t have the right skill.

The match had started

The whistle blew and I went in for the kill.

We both had sweat dripping off of our frame

I came out on top

And stole what everyone wanted to call fame

This guy was fast but not fast enough

If you wanna win

You really, really gotta be tough
