right now love is

you are so damn lucky

not everything needs to be poetic

not everything needs to represent love in words

it doesn't need to be described as a storm or a hummingbird's flutter

or any other metaphor filled with sappy cartoon eyes

but love is just that sometimes

and it is others

and it is so many things

and right now it is me sitting here

after writing up a story of melancholy

after cloaks of crooked voices distant and near to me fell

I looked to the couch

and she was there

and suddenly, I forgot the pain from moments ago

and felt the joy I have now

writing this

Love is many things

and right now it is me sitting here

and she is there

and suddenly, it is okay
