Right or Blessing?
What is freedom?
Is it a right or a blessing?
It is a badge of great honor for some,
But those are not the ones I’m addressing.
I’m talking to the ones who mess around during the pledges.
The ones who don’t care about the men and woman who fought.
The ones who don’t get the American message
I must admit I am quite distraught.
It’s the stripes and the stars,
The red white and blue
For those more interested in your money and cars,
I honestly feel bad for you.
So many were committed to years of service.
If you know you’re one who takes it for granted,
You should start to feel nervous.
I’m sure you’ve heard others who’ve scolded and ranted.
So please put you hands on your heart.
Don’t talk or chomp on your gum,
For the respect of your country, that’s surly the start.
So tell me people, what is freedom?
Something wrong with this poem?
