Right of Pain

What right do I have

  to complain, to feel pain

there are others in worse shape

  others who’ve seen death drape

  I’ve seen my fair share

but I’ve yet to go into the demon’s lair

I can sit alone at home

  without worry

  just me, myself and I

“I am lucky” this I tell myself

  on a daily basis

because I know I am blessed

  what right do I have

  when I’m eating and drinking

  to complain, to feel pain
