The Right Questions

He writes poetry,

He writes art.

Poetry brings out the loud voice within him,

Poetry was the elation he needed during those dark moments in high school.

Yes, poetry was his anti-depressant. His drug.

Selfish purposes aside, writing allowed him to connect.

All he wanted to feel were connections among his peers,

He understood that the other classmates felt his pressures too.

But their pride is strong enough to prevent even the most innocent expressions,

The most innocent confusions.

Writing was an escape, a solution, a hero.

He writes in pursuit of an answer,

Answers that ask more questions.

So that society can start asking the right questions.
