The right to worry

They thought I wouldn't make it pass the tv screen,
the greatest weapon thus far of societies,
filled with lies corruption and deceit,
I swear they tried to take the pride from me,
the pride of being a black man,
suggested I hate my skin,
and even more so those darker then,
to accept the name bitch for my women,
and that I was made to serve a life sentence,
that I had to get rich or die trying,
my success would be by to the crackheads supplying,
to kill cause of colors mothers on the streets crying,
and if I said I'd be a father to my kids they would say I was lying,
it's hard to kick against the pricks, I swear I was trying,
but with all the radio hits, my own people were supplying,
the poison that kept my brain writhing,
fighting with no hope in sight,
in darkness who would of thought I'd end up surviving,
that to my dreams I could go beyond aspiring,
but inspiring my peers to keep fighting,
to love themselves, and see pass the shades of society,
that we are kings and queens,
and have no need for the provisions society is providing,
cause their vision for us is not pro but con,
they want to keep us from shining,
but they can't cause to be like me they keep trying,
want to copy the way we walk talk oh the irony,
want everything from us except the color that represents me,
I swear on everything i love, they better not test me,
cause I understand who i am,
and my heritage is the best part about me,
I've read the history and though anger is inside me,
if I said I hate them I'd be lying,
I love them cause with all their trying,
they only made me realize more,
that I am force to be reckoned with when I'm striving,
and so I strive to be better do better,
and to the truth keep from hiding,
cause truth is I was made from greatness,
to be greatness,
so I understand the fear from society
