Right Your Wrongs
Dear...well you know who you are,
I never told you how I truly felt or that I loved you, but I did. The hurt I felt because of you was undeniable by any means. The love I finally allowed myself to feel for you could have moved mountains. You were wrong in all you did. It was the lesser of two evils when it came to loving you. I knew I was never good enough for you or at least that is what I led myself to believe. I constantly wondered how you functioned; your thought process and how you could so easily let me down. I loved you for you and not who everyone said you were. I took your words for truth not regarding how your actions contradicted them. I felt like your mind was this ongoing assembly line of how you could manipulate the situation in your favor. How you could get what you wanted, but still be in line with what you thought I was willing to give. I was willing to give you the world on gold. In fact, I did or tried too, but you paid it no mind. You had a way of doing things. A system, a system that ran on your own egotistical ways and selfish reasonings. A system that I tried to understand and a system that hurt me. Although, a system cannot fail those who it was never designed to protect can it? I constantly wondered why I was never good enough for you, but a man whose first love is his own demons will never love you, not fully. You led me to a garden of flowers, but never promised me roses. I broke my heart trying to love someone like you. How do you treat like the peasant the person that treated you like a king? How can I forget you? How can I throw away this bond I worked so hard to keep? How can I let this go? How can I turn my back on you? How can I throw you away? Every day, when I thought I needed you by my side. I was wrong for loving you, but you were wrong for letting me, hurting me, and destroying the one person who cared about you more than everyone else ever did. You broke me apart, but I had to leave. I had to right your wrongs.
