Ripples

Behind those broken eyes

A lost and lonely soul lies

Fallen between the cracks in your mind

Like in a pond, ripples break the silence

Despair wells, growing more intense

Rings reach the bank undefined

Expressions hand hewn

Keep busy with ink and tune

Sparing the heart from truth

Baring pieces unknown to most

Made easier with a dose

Reveals your youth

Parsing the narrative to survive

Unaware that your past is your drive

You confess nothing
