Riptide
Walking around all vacant inside,
Remembering the convo we just engaged in last night.
I looked in your eyes ready to strike,
Until the moment I read into those pretty blue eyes.
Why were you there ready to bite,
A part of you I had barely realized.
So I jump in my head,
The thoughts with no end,
Running in circles with those words,
That I can’t comprehend.
Why am I here,
My thoughts full of fears,
How long till my very own hearts filled with tears.
I worry inside,
I know I can’t hide,
Knowing that running away will only lead me to lie.
So I sit in my head and ponder my heart,
Wondering if I need a new start,
Then taking the fall,
lonely and all,
Feeling like this is just some kind of brawl.
So I think I should stop,
I won’t come out on top,
I’ll just walk all around,
Because this moment has flopped.
