Rise Above

Rise Above.

My mom has told me that since forever,

But it took me years to surrender.

Through break-ups and bad friends,

This short saying has allowed me to make amends.

Rise Above.

It has enabled me to be more forgiving

not the one obsessed with winning.

I no longer hold on to past matters;

I would rather live life happy unlike the mad hatter.

Rise Above.

If there is one thing I have to say to you

Rise Above it’s the only thing to do.

Forget about the pain and sorrow

The bigger person will be smiling tomorrow.
