rise and shine

my favorite poem is from my girl

maya angelou is her name

she writes to rise and whirl

finding strength is her game

she gave us more than just one rhyme

about changing your past

and out of time

about phenomenal women

and refusing to die

when to laugh and when to cry

love knows no wall

to climb or scale

big or small

truth or tale

still i rise means the world to me

actually quite a bit more than that

so much so....

i want a tat

with these three words

i will always know

for if i'm lost
