The Rise From Pain
To the younger, more frail and afraid me,
I too know pain.
I the unknowingly different child,
Sat alone at the table,
Because I was not the same as the others.
I too know ignorance.
I felt the angry and brash words that were thrown at me
With the speed of a turbojet,
That shattered the heart and soul of a young girl.
I too know pain.
But I rose,
And continue to rise,
Like a bird learning to fly.
I know pain,
but I also know that the only thing I can do about that pain,
is to conquer it.
And to understand that the only thing
that should matter are the words that,
you speak to yourself.
I too know pain,
But I also know recovery.
I know ignorance,
But I also know strength.
I know how to survive.
And soon,
You will too.
Sincerely and Lovingly,
The you that you will become
