Rising Up

I would fall to the ground

bow at your feet

If not for the sound

Of my greatest resolutions defeat

I was stubborn

but i thought i was weak

unable to conquer without my own defeat

there was no one there to hear

So why should i speak

All that I wanted was for someone to care

But then I realized that only one person was there

A little person

I call myself I

It was the hunger that was hidden deep inside

Others approval I did not need

My future I could finally see

I saw the person I needed to be

Or maybe she was there all along

Waiting for me to write my own song

So all I can tell you is one simple thing

If you want to be happy

If you wand to succeed

Then start with you

At least that’s what happened to me
