The Rising Sun

It started off like most beautiful days

With clear skies lit by the morning rays

The stagnant air was silent and calm

Until the peace was broken by a bomb

With planes flying in the sky

And smoke rising up high

The enemy was calling as an army was falling

The world was turning as an island was burning

The city of Pearl could not comprehend

What the harbor of ships had to pay in the end

The thousands of souls lost at sea

Our courage and bravery had set us free

As ‘The Rising Sun’ had finally set

A nation earned a scar that it will never forget
