Risk
I don't want to love you because I don't want to miss you
You ask for a hug but all I want to do is kiss you
It looks like I have my life together but I'm a fucking mess
Pretending that I'm clean but you don't want to smell my breath
It's the scent of subconscious thoughts full of fear and hesitation
Because I don't want to go out into the world if I can't be the perfect presentation
My heart is so full of love but it comes out of my eyes in tears
Because I can't run free while being chained down with fears
I know exactly what I want but it's not that easy to define
What if what makes me happy leaves my identity behind?
It feels like the more I learn, the more I become afraid
Emotions crashing back and forth like a massive tidal wave
If only I could see you on the other side of the mist
Only then could I move forward; only then could I take a risk
