Risky Behavior

Driving seems cool,

Especially when you have your phone.

You see snapchats, texts, tweets.

You take your eyes off of the road.

“People do this all the time,”

You think.

“What’s the harm?

I’ve done it plenty of other times”.

You look up.

You swerve.

You’re safe.

So lucky.

But if you’re safe this time…

What’s the harm in doing it again?

Oh look, another snapchat!

Will you answer it? Of course.

Your eyes stray from the road once again,

But this time, fate has different plans.

While you were looking down,

You didn’t realize the light turned red.

You don’t look up.

You giggle.

You crash.

And now, you’re dead.

And just like the light, the pavement turns red.
