Risum Dies (To Laugh All Day)

There seems to be but one thing that I truly

Could not leave behind. There is no life worth

Living without a precious humor.

Rising each day with no reason to giggle seems

Dreary and cold, filled with loneliness, and

Lacking in hope. I laugh each day so that

People who have been wounded and hurt

Will know that there is life to be had to the fullest

When before only darkness was their companion.

Laughter's healing tonic seems to be

What everyone needs, a reassurance that

All is not lost in this bloodthirsty world

And that someday all will know what it means to

Laugh all day long.
