The River of Life

Seasons come and go;
but you keep pushing forward.

Summer makes you heated;
Winter makes you cold down to the core.
In fall, you keep pushing;
Past all the leaves and debris.
I like you best in spring.

Yet, in each season you have taught me life.
You adapt and keep pushing.
You give without receiving,
but never change your ways.

I want to be you.
I want to flow like a river,
around all the curves and bends of life;
I want to breathe life onto the living,
even when I am not receiving.
