The river of words

A poem is a river of words

That leads me to the sea

The words make me feel like a bird

Because with these words I am flying free

Free as the wind, free as the bees

Free as the wild horses roaming the great plains without a care

These words set my ideas in motion

Because with these words I can say anything I dare

These words are a key to unlock the hidden emotions

The hidden thoughts, and notions

That has been lying asleep inside of me

lying like a sleeping dragon

Protecting its gems in sets of three

  Inside of the wagon

With a garden of snapdragons

And with these words, I am finally free

My thoughts can fly out onto the paper

And fill the page like vapor

Collecting the leaves of the trees

A way to let my emotions be free

This is what poems are to me
