The Road

Sick and dying, I turn in shame.

No longer can I look into your eyes and say,

“I am you servant.”

I’ve gone too far down a road where the sun never shines.

Where the beautiful nature is slowly withering up.

My heart and soul are restless.

They work ceaselessly to keep me alive.

The road I’m on is a never ending piercing of the heart.

My heart feels as though it is being pierced by the sword

of misery multiple times.

My heart crying out for help becomes discouraged and

contemplates jumping over the edge of its own

waterfall.

As it takes that first step toward the edge of broken dreams

it feels a tug, and stops.

This voice ringing so sweetly says,

“Stop I have great things in store for you.”

“Have patience, my child, and put your faith in me,

together we can get through this time of dolor.”

Having stopped, and ran back into the shelter of your arms,

I am now healthy and alive.

I can now look into you eyes again and say,

“I am your servant, use me how you please. Amen”
