On the Road

The sun is dimming, leaving the greens to darkness Surrounded by friends, laughter, and a sense of tiredness Consuming thoughts, leading to dead end conclusions Telling stories and lies of our own illusions Shaping clouds, shaping thoughts, kept awake Wheat sways to winds rhythm, sunbeams on a lake Confined to my seat, irrationally irritable Friendly fighting, I smell something terrible Birds soar high, my feet covered in dirt My body aches with age but doesn't hurt The sun has gone, the greens in darkness Surrounded by friends, surrounded by brightness
