The Road In Front Of Me

There’s the yellow brick road,

There’s the empty throne,

There’s the safe with gold within.

Yet here I am

Laying down

to rest some more.

Maybe Later, I’ll fill

up to walking

to one of those places,

with success as promises.

There’s the yellow brick road,

There’s the empty throne,

There’s the safe with gold within.

My energy supply

has left me now.

So, I’ll sleep right here.

Hopefully, when I wake

I’ll have the energy

to get up and walk

to one of those places,

where I know

others are.
