Road To Recovery
It sounds simple,
A slice of cake,
A rest day.
Just eat, it's not that hard.
Ignore them, listen to me.
I know what's best for you,
I'll keep you thin;
People will like you;
You'll be happy.
You've gotten enough exercise for one day,
Take a break,
Nourish your body.
No, it's not enough,
Five more minutes,
If you don't do 3 more sets you'll get fat.
Nobody does as much as you do, you'll never be overweight.
Wrong; you're different,
Those rules don't apply to you.
Tell the voices to stop.
Just stay away from them, they don't understand you.
I know what's best for you.
No, you don't;
You want me to isolate myself,
You want to test my body's limits; how far will I go, how long can I last?
You want me to fade away, blown down by peer pressure,
YOU WANT ME DEAD.
But you are not me.
You are insidious, manipulative, conniving, and selfish.
You are an eating disorder,
And with this bite, I take my life back.
