The Road They Travel

Thu, 05/05/2016 - 16:23 -- Wolvena

I reach out

Then I pull back

And squeeze my eyes shut

After all,

They don’t need me anymore

I stand in the dust

Slowly my eyes open

To see them so far away

Laughing

I pull my hands in to fists

And turn

Back the way they came

Even if they don’t need me anymore

I will still protect them on this road they travel
