Roads

There is song for the open road.

There is a map for the places you will go.

On the open road

Some roads are rough,

Some roads are smooth,

Some roads are busy,

Some roads are slow,

Some roads come to a dead end.

The open road is a time to think

About whether we want to get off the exit,

Or keep traveling down the same road.

Sometimes we have to get on a new interchange,

Just to discover were one road ends.

Sometimes we have to get off an exit,

Just to remind is where our road started.

Sometimes, we stay on the open road so long

That it becomes apart of us.

Our roads may not be the same road

As the past roads you traveled.

Those roads will always be a part of your highway,

That remind you where your path starts.

Sometimes you have to change intersections,

Then get off an exit

For that long stretch of highway

That takes you where open road started.
