Roaring 20's


The decade was roaring Sky high scrapers are soaring Nothing here in America is boring Beautiful daisy flappers Silent film movie actors Industry Booming Fly crafts are zooming Nowhere but everywhere is jazz Trumpet players dance with pizazz We do the Charleston and black bottom Drinks all-round everyone got ‘em Beautiful women then shimmy We tip shoe shiners with pennies Take a night on the town Gorgeous lights all around Vents steam from the ground Here it’s all about fun, no one repented Man is on the run, the 19th Amendment Mail travels by air when you sent it The Automobile is mass production Staying inside was way too reluctant The literature is wonderful The paintings are colorful Science keeps the kids focused So we don’t become hopeless Al Capone gang shootings Midday bank lootings President Calvin Coolidge These drugs are a lucid He knows they are there But nobody really cares Everyone wants a great time But the fun ended October 29, 1929
