Robin's Egg

I was outside laying on my pick nick table

staring at the sky

and it was the most beautiful color

blue, like a robins egg.

And I looked away at the trees

to see how they looked like

silhouettes

against the robins egg sky

and when I looked back minutes later

the blue wasn't as pretty anymore.

It was oppressing

and I

was looking at it,

and it

was all around me

and I felt like I was choking

on the blue sky.

Then there was a strong breeze

and I thought

about how the wind clears the clouds and storms from the sky every night so that the sky

can be clean.

So it can be that beautiful color blue again

and so the sun can shine and warm my skin

and so the trees can comfort me

and the mountains can make me feel weightless when I am on top of them.

I realized, I need to be my own wind.
