Robots for Friends 9-4-17

I wish I had robots

Instead of humans for friends.

This way, I couldn’t be disappointed

Or saddened by their lack of care

Yes they would be predictable

And, yes, I would know all their answers too

But human friends can hurt you

I promise, they always do

Robots are predictable

Robots do not change

Robots cannot surprise you

And most of all,

Robots do not lie

They do exactly what you want

Say what you program them to say

And they never cause you heartache

Because, again, they can’t change

Robots would be true

Robots would be kind

Robots would not break your heart

Or cause suffering in your life

Robots follow orders

So I could order mine to love

And even though I put in the codes

And created each response

I would know that they were sincere

And binary smiles would be enough

Empty but consistent

Cold but true

These are what my robot friends

Would do
