THE ROCK OR THE RIVER?

Fri, 10/19/2018 - 09:34 -- Kricket

We live in a world where violence is heavier than ever

We hear more about people getting killed, more than we hear about the weather

Every time I think about it, I kinda go insane

Because here in this world, we play with our lives as if life is a game.

We don’t know when we’re gonna die,

But I know I won’t watch another mother cry

Because her child died

I won’t.

I don’t want to see another riot,

But I also don’t want us to stay quiet.

I want us to fight, but we have to do it right

If we want it go in a certain direction,

We need to get some type of instruction

So we can function

Outside of this messed up junction.

God wouldn’t want this violence

But, He also wouldn’t want us to stay silent

Malcolm said “BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY”

but King wanted us safe; that’s primary.

So gather your groups and put together your troops

Because we aren’t going anywhere.

We want justice: : Fair and square

All of these cases with their facts mistake;

“He had his hands up”, “He reached for his gun”

“He assaulted him:, “He started to run:

So many details, yet justice can’t prevail.

Things have started to happen, but on a much larger scale.

If things are going left and we want them to go right,

Then I believe the only other choice we have left

IS TO FIGHT!

END THIS WAR OF DESTRUCTION AND OBSTRUCTION!

Things will happen for a reason,

BUT THIS IS OUR SEASON!

We must be like rocks,

STRONG and BOLD.

And be like the River

That MOVES and FLOWS

We must also have God

To show us the path we must trod, narrow as it may be

Because in this world, we must be the change we wish to see.
