Rocky

I use to think that fairytales could be a reality

That if you tried hard enough you could make any dream come true.

I knew That life came with pain, that you can’t only have joy but I thought that pain was temporary.

Here one day and gone the next.

But you showed me that to be false.

You were mine, mine to protect and love

But on that fateful day you were in so much pain

And I couldn’t help.

We took you to the vet hoping they’ll have a cure

They did lessen your suffering and for that I’ll always be grateful

But I watched as you fell asleep never to awaken.

Now I know that pain is a part of life

And sometimes time doesn’t heal the wound

Just makes it numb, till sometimes you forget the empty space

Inside.
