Rocky Road

Normal kid, happy life, normal life, happy kid.

Until 10 years ago

when an immature man, decided to drive

and hurt my heart.

Today, I live without a part of my heart,

but I’ve realized

that life goes on, no matter how hard.

Ever since that day

it’s been hard for me and a broken hearted father

to watch as more and more

of our family seemed to disappear.

We have overcome,

and started to live happily in the world.

We’ve battled for happiness,

we’ve conquered more hardships than many have to endure.

But we find a way

to stay happy in life along the way.

My dad is happy

with whom he has met and that I,

his only son,

is out in this big world pursuing his dreams.

Me, on the other hand,

has met the woman found once in a lifetime.

The woman

whom I plan to keep protected in my heart

for all of eternity.

Because the last woman who meant this much to me,

loved me

those long ten years ago,

would be

this beautiful woman’s mother in law.
