Roller Coasters

I was with you through all the roller coasters

i wiped away your tears

and told you your stomach won't always be in your throat

i told you it was all down hill

and hugged you until the ride was over

But when it was my turn to ride the roller coaster

You were no where in sight

You left me here to take this on by myself

I felt so hurt, no one to remind me the ride would end

Encourage me to keep going

Just when I thought it was going up hill

It would suddenly drop and my stomach would lurch

As the ride came to a stop

Tears rolling down my cheeks

I looked around

And my heart was torn to pieces

Becasue you weren't there to tell me how brave I was

And realized you never would be back

And there it went, the roller coaster started back up

And I had to be strong and roll with the punches

Now I thank you for that because no roller coaster

Will ever phase me again

I know that I can only rely on myself

You made me the independant strong lady that I am!
