Rollerblades
Roller blades.
Help me fly from problems with my feet still on the ground.
A streak of clear ground is like an infinite runway.
I get smaller for speed, stretch for speed.
I spring up with my arms stretched wide Letting the stress and insecurities roll off my finger tips.
I close my eyes to make the moment last forever.
When I slow down, I circle around to re-write the past.
I see my family and link hands trying to spread the feeling.
I see a puddle.
But not a puddle, it is a lake begging to have ripples through it.
I skim through then look behind to see the reflection shimmer.
At the end of the water I'm careful to not hit a rock
It'd be a shame to be brought back to reality so suddenly
I enter another puddle and close my eyes to listen to the sound of a ribbon unraveling.
I look behind to see the sky’s reflection turning to ripples.
I look up once more at the clear navy blue sky
As it envelops me taking me to my own private world
Empty of cares
