Romance at the Park

Dark skies and a cool breeze,

Humid air with the pleasant scent of rain.

She embraces my hand,

Moving eagerly to glossy green field.

Collapsing on soft blankets,

Free from itchy green grass,

Her eyes a deep blue;

Like rays of gold light

Seen from below blue oceans.

The feeling of her soft face,

Hand creeping from cheek to neck.

Moving closer still collapsed on the ground,

She smiles warmly;

A single gesture describing everything she is,

Happy, fun, smart… beautiful.

Traffic mutes and surroundings freeze,

Only a breeze remains as time slows.

Her soft lips meet mine with closed eyes,

Engulfed with passion we kiss;

My hand on her neck pulling her in.

Satisfied with affection

My teeth find her lower lip,

Playful nibbles as our eyes open.

The corners of her mouth bending towards her eyes,

Again she smiles,

With the same astonishing beauty.

The worlds been shrunk,

Its boundaries the corner of our blanket,

Our shrunken world.

Still, her body lies motionless,

Eyes softly closed with body curled up into mine.

Lying next to her embracing one another safely,

Keeping from the edges of our shrunken world.

I admire her complexion;

Stroking her hair and starring into closed eyes,

Still warm and beautiful.

I keep close and safe in her company,

Happy to share asylum in our shrunken world.

Still admiring her warmth— so beautiful.
